Greetings from the wilds of Jury Duty & kudos on six months of wonderful, spirited writing! I have conventional, eclectic taste in music & am on a pretty steady diet of Mozart, Billy Preston, Janis Joplin, Prince, Beethoven, Billie Holiday, Johann CHRISTIAN Bach...& always, always, The Beatles, The Who, The Stones & Elton John.

Such a great mix! You know Mozart would have absolutely loved Elton John and Prince (he was such a party guy.) Have a good time on Jury Duty!

I feel the same way! Thanks to all these responses, I've been listening to music this past week that I never would have encountered otherwise. I'm so happy everyone was up for it.

I want to keep adding to this - lately, it's about every version of "Mockingbird" every made. And I can't believe that I was not familiar with Aretha's version, which is on "repeat" in my brain all day, every day, lately. Can we do this again next week?

I could do this as a recurring post every week, forever.

One More...

Late at night, inevitably I return to a song that stays with me long after the last notes have drifted away: The late John Barry’s “Body Heat” theme from the film noir of the same name starring William Hurt & Kathleen Turner. It’s the kind of tune that makes me edgy in a good way. As one fan described it,

“Listening to this haunting melody ... you need to find out NO more, to understand that this story will NOT end well... A terrific piece, and an outstanding film.”

Pour something neat & sit back. Here’s the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Hn1sKPeT4to&ab_channel=pinorizz.
