I always love these smorgasbords! I fear I may be one of those that hasn't really enjoyed new music since my 30's. now I can catch up on what I have been missing.
Bravo! That was a fun journey into all kinds of sounds. I'm one of those people who quit music somewhere near thirty. Or at least, I stopped following certain artists. It was always the artist, though, rather than their music that fascinated me. I was a vicarious groupie instead of an afficianado of their works. This selection, this groaning board of musical entrees was a delicious repast. Thank you all. The song that will be haunting me is "Fear of Heights." The beat and ethereal voice on the Radio City Khruanggin piece will be in my ear all day. Thank you all.

Well, that was fun. I need to track many of these down and watch those links. It makes me want to jump in too, of course. Oddly I've been a little 'retro' lately and revisiting things, instead of seeking new music. I had seen recent Julianna Hatfield posts on Facebook, she is older now (people age! crazy!) but it made me go back to listen to her "Spin the Bottle" teen-passion song. But then also that made me drift back to heartfelt little pieces of love and loss from my past, much quieter songs like Clem Snide's "Exercise," ("... find a way to brace yourself, your heart's a muscle and that's all...") and Iron and Wine's cover of "Such Great Heights," which is strangely enough a Road Song.
100% agree that Iron and Wine’s Such Great Heights is a road song! Can’t wait to check out the rest. There’s no better way to find music than via actual non-algorithmic human recommendations from actual interesting humans. Thanks Steven!!
A great post. It’s my first Juke, so I’m just getting into it! I include a five-track playlist in each of my newsletters - sometimes related to my topic, sometimes not - and as I publish twice a week, I’m always looking for the next one. On one hand this means I’m always up for new music; on the other, I don’t have the time to revisit the playlists from before.
But, if I have to suggest recent tracks that have claimed my attention:
Welcome! And that looks like quite an interesting list. I think including regular playlists on your posts is an inspired idea. It'd be interesting to see, after a while of publishing, which tracks you still remember and want to go back to. Glad to have you here, Bryan!
Still a musical throwback, but really like James (not Jim) Morrison, who currently cranks out great bluesy pieces. Otherwise? Billy Preston, Three Dog Night, Mozart, Scott Joplin rags, Tuba Skinny (both current AND throwback), Aretha Franklin, Stones, The Who, Led Zeppelin & The Beatles, always & forever. ✌️♥️🎶
