loved this poem, Ned. I also responded to "remaining silent is often the loudest reply", normally so very true. until I thought of voting in this election (sorry, its on my mind these days) - specifically the people saying they are not voting this year. their silence may result in a very loud and devastating reply. that terrifies me

I know what you mean, Tabby. My election anxieties are bleeding over into everything right now too. It's so hard to keep focus on the normal, day-to-day while that's hanging over us all. I just cross my fingers that every woman (and man too, but especially woman) will show up at the polls and that the result won't be the nightmare I'm envisioning.

Meanwhile, Ned's Sutra is what I need for those in-person conversations, when I'm frustrated and want to just yell. In that moment, I can remember the strength of silence and of remaining calm and open-hearted.
